In addition to the emotional stress of infertility, couples are also faced with the financial concerns of seeking infertility diagnosis and treatment. Some infertility treatment costs may be covered by medical insurance policies. While many policies pay for the diagnostic procedures to determine the cause of infertility in both partners, they may have limits on coverage for treatments such as in vitro fertilization (IVF). The degree of coverage is highly dependent upon each individual insurance policy and its exclusions. In policies that indicate infertility benefits, these may be limited to specific maximum lifetime dollar amounts or to specific treatments or number of treatments.

Understanding the extent of coverage and obtaining the necessary authorizations from an insurance company for any person facing infertility can be confusing and at times, overwhelming. Our business staff at the Virginia IVF and Andrology Center has extensive experience working with insurance companies and understanding patient coverage. We strongly encourage that couples become familiar with their insurance benefits for infertility diagnosis and treatment. This will help you make informed decisions on how to proceed with your evaluation and treatment. If you have any questions or concerns in these matters, please feel free to contact our business office at Virginia IVF and Andrology Center. We would be happy to help you understand your insurance benefits.

Treatments for infertility that require IVF and the Assisted Reproductive Technologies require a variety of highly trained specialists, precise and sophisticated instrumentation, and specialized supplies and culture media. With this in mind, one can appreciate that the costs in utilizing the assisted reproductive technologies can be significant. Furthermore, the medications that are used for IVF treatments are also expensive. We, at Virginia IVF and Andrology Center understand the potential financial burden of infertility treatment and have made every effort to help our patients afford these necessary therapeutic procedures. Despite the ever increasing cost of medical supplies and equipment, we at Virginia IVF and Andrology Center believe that our costs for IVF and the Assisted Reproductive Technologies are among the lowest on the East Coast. This combined with IVF pregnancy success rates among the highest in the country makes Virginia IVF and Andrology Center an attractive choice for couples seeking infertility treatment.
