Single Frozen Embryo Cycle
  • A chosen number of previously frozen embryos are thawed and hatched or cultured, if appropriate
  • Embryos are selected for transfer to the patient
  • If all thawed embryos are not transferred, any remaining good quality embryos are refrozen

  • The patient may use donor frozen embryos from our program or an outside program, if desired
  • The patient may transport her own embryos from another facility to Virginia IVF

Single Frozen Oocyte Cycle
  • A chosen number of previously frozen oocytes are thawed, inseminated and cultured
  • Embryos are selected for transfer to the patient
  • If all embryos are not transferred, any remaining good quality embryos are frozen
  • Benefits and Considerations
  • There is a possibility that some eggs will not survive the thawing process
  • Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is always used as the insemination method
  • The patient may use frozen oocytes from an outside program, if desired
  • The patient may transport her own oocytes from another facility, if desired
  • The patient may use a gestational carrier or donor sperm, if desired
  • The patient is able to file with insurance for reimbursement for part or all of the services, depending on coverage
